Chiropractic Manipulation

Chiropractic Manipulation

Also known as a chiropractic adjustment, it serves to promote proper joint function and movement.  This is done by manually applying a controlled force to specific joints, most commonly of the spine, that are hypomobile, or not moving properly.  Mobility is restored, consequently relieving pain and muscle tightness, and allowing tissues to heal. There are many different adjusting techniques used by chiropractors, and it is our responsibility as your doctor to identify what might work best for you. And if we feel that another office might have a better technique or service for you, we will refer you there. The techniques utilized at Be Well include Diversified, Activator, Thompson Drop, Webster, and Flexion/Distraction.

Muscular Rehab

Muscular Rehabilitation

Our first goal is always to decrease pain through treating the cause of disease or dysfunction. Our second goal is to make sure patients stay out of pain, or to decrease episodes of dysfunction. This is where muscular rehabilitation comes into play. In addition to proper joint mobility, proper muscular function is essential. Therefore most patients will learn several exercises and stretches to both do in the office and at home, as well as a plan to maintain musculoskeletal stability.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy, or physical therapy, is a healthcare profession dedicated to diagnosing, treating, and managing movement disorders caused by injury, disease, or disability. It aims to enhance physical function, mobility, and overall health through tailored exercise programs, manual therapy, electrotherapy, hydrotherapy, and pain management techniques. Physiotherapists also play a crucial role in rehabilitation, helping patients recover from surgeries, injuries, or illnesses and regain independence. Preventive care and patient education are key components, promoting long-term health and injury prevention. Specializations include areas like sports, pediatric, geriatric, cardiopulmonary, and neurological physiotherapy, focusing on restoring and maintaining physical function and well-being.

Nurtritional Counseling

Nutritional Counseling & Supplementation

Because proper nutrition and healthy lifestyle is such a large aspect of addressing chronic pain as well as in maintaining wellness, it is often incorporated into the treatment plan. We offer nutritional counseling from a functional medicine perspective, looking at the body as a collection of systems working functionally dependent and connected to each other. For example, the gastrointestinal system is the first line of defense of the immune system. Therefore if a patient is experiencing GI dysfunction, we will often then see other health problems arise and may often see chronic pain. So we will begin fixing the gut as part of a holistic effort to make the body better at naturally fending off disease or chronic pain. We also offer food sensitivity testing.

Reiki

Reiki is a type of energy healing. Everything in the Universe is made up of energy, including us. Our energy systems can get blocked, just like our cardiovascular systems can get blocked. Reiki practitioners use gentle touch to help balance and realign energy in the body, which can activate the body's innate ability to heal.

Services under Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy (CST)

CST involves a gentle touch that can assist the release of deep tensions held within the body, allowing the body to care for itself through the Central Nervous System (CNS). The Craniosacral system involves the soft tissues and fluid that surrounds and protects the brain and spinal cord, directly impacting our CNS.

Visceral Manipulation (VM)

Visceral Manipulation involves soft touch to encourage normal mobility and motion of the viscera(organs) and their surrounding connective tissue. It assists in dissipating the effects of stress and supports the mobility of the musculoskeletal system through connective tissue attachments.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial release is a manual therapy to assist in relaxing the fascia or connective tissues that surround the structures of the body. Tissues can become restricted due to many causes (muscle tension, trauma, injury).
